ThinkVantage System Update no longer runs

I have a ThinkPad T430 I don't use very often, so I can't recall when I
last used the ThinkVantage System Update (successfully). Yesterday I let
Windows 10 Professional install the latest updates, then I tried to run
the ThinkVantage utility, since it sometimes finds updated drivers, etc.
to go with the latest Microsoft updates -- but the ThinkVantage utility
was nowhere to be found.

I reinstalled the ThinkVantage System Update, and it starts, with the
splash screen displaying for a minute or more (far longer than
previously), but then it simply terminates, whereas it used to run and
look for updates (which it did not always find).

Try
Right click on program icon - Properties - Compatibility - Run
compatibility troubleshooter.

It tried various compatibility fixes bet finally told me the program is
incompatible. I looked for "Lenovo" in the Windows Store and found
Lenovo Companion, which includes a System Update feature among others.

Now we are up to date again.
