Drew According to these users, the problem is related to the Nvidia graphics. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/TouchSm...4/td-p/1988241 Paul Interesting hardware. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...riesId=3751701 "Chipset: Intel Mobile GM965 Express" "Integrated graphics using Intel GMA 3100 Enabled for selected Touchsmart models without discrete graphics card" That's one graphics solution inside it. I don't know if that's guaranteed to be used or not. The second graphics is an MXM module. "NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS" This is a picture of the 9300M MXM card. It plugs into a slot on the motherboard, if there is an actual 9300M present. On the real card, there's going to be a heatsink or cooler attached to the main chip. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/su.../c02083330.jpg So if you're researching the issue, you might look for other computers with that kind of hardware in them. For example, a high end laptop might have a 9300M, and then you'd try and find examples of people installing Win8 on the 9300M based laptop. In terms of hardware, it's going to bear some similarities to a laptop. Paul |

You jarred a memory of something I read and so I deleted or uninstalled the nvidia driver and lo and behold win 8 loaded and all is well so far. Thanks again! |
