Have been using Win 8 for some months now. Impressive OS.

I have Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to meet my need for a tablet which is minimal

I have installed win 8 on 5 computers to use it in the desktop mode.

After some tinkering

I am very happy with it as a desktop system

It is faster and there is less bloat.

I would tend to agree. I would use the Metro interface more if I were
using Windows 8 on a tablet, or if I had a touchscreen monitor. I
cheat and use Start 8 which boots by default to the old desktop.

I have no major complaints with Windows 8 at home. If IT installed it
at our office, it would shut down the business for at least half a day
while the workstations users tried to figure out how to create
documens, etc., from the new interface.
