DYMO LabelWriter problem
I've been trying to get my old DYMO LabelWriter Twin Turbo installed
and working on my new HP Pavilion computer with Windows 8 pre-installed. The DYMO setup process seems to go well but when I try to use this LabelWriter I get an error message telling me that there are no drivers installed for this device. Is there any way I can go on-line and download/install drivers as needed for this LabelWriter so it will work under Windows 8? The DYMO LabelWriter is several years old and the install CD probably doesn't have drivers on it as needed for Windows 8, so I'm guessing I need to go on-line and download the needed drivers. Thanks, Gordon |

No Windows 8 software specifically mentioned. Check Windows Update, and see if any drivers are pending in there. The device is USB, and probably announces itself as a printer. Paul |

Paul If I download that package (or use the Windows 8 package), then unpack the package with 7ZIP, I can see a "dymo.inf" file, and right clicking that and selecting "install" might install just a driver portion for you. The package mentions "unidrv.oem", so maybe a fair bit of the printing support, comes from the Microsoft side of things. There's also folders of crusty looking DLL files (which that INF file will call up). If the package was originally designed for Vista, maybe Windows 7 and Windows 8 are very similar and will "just work". You never know. I'd backup or make a restore point, or have some means of backing out if it makes a mess. Safety first. Paul |

Gordon Why does it need Twin Turbo's??? Two rolls of paper. Maybe the paper is different sizes, so you don't have to change the roll, to print two different sized labels. http://global.dymo.com/enCA/Products...win_Turbo.html https://global.dymo.com/enCA/RNW/RNW...wers.search_nl (32 bit drivers only) http://download.dymo.com/download%20...rivers-x86.msi (64 bit drivers only) http://download.dymo.com/download%20...rivers-x64.msi readme.rtf "Running installer before plugging in printer On Windows Vista, if you plug in the printer before running the installer, the Windows XP version of the printer driver may be installed.
