Windows 10 serial

I have windows 8 on an internal hard disk, the laptop has secure boot
disabled.

I have an evaluation copy of windows 10 installed on an external usb disk.

When I boot into windows 10 the product key is flagged as invalid, it has
been changed to the windows 8 one.

I can of course re-enter the correct one but do not want to have to do this
every time, any help appreciated.
