Default Activate windows 10 Inside Preview with final release.

I have been testing win 10 on a dedicates ssd on my desktop for the last
few months.

With release of Build 10074 I have made it now my main desktop operating
system on my home computer. It is solid and stable enough for my
personal use.

I do not use Cortana or Spartan. I am very comfortable with Firefox. I
am using my old pre-win 8 favourite desktop programs as default.

There are only 4 tablet programs that I use 1) Weather 2) News
3) Money and 4) Xe currency exchange.

When the final win 10 is released will I just use win 8 key to activate
my installation? I bought the key from Microsoft for 40 dollar
introductory offer for windows 8

Hi HS,

If history is any indication, the previews come with
a kill switch. M$ has always made you wipe and reinstall.
And, there is no technical reason why they would do this.
They just do.

Windows 8.0 does not qualify for the Win 10 upgrade. Win 8.0 must be at
the 8.1 level. Additionally, the upgrade path is via WU. MSFT has yet to
commit that existing Win10 Preview will be upgraded to Win 10 RTM nor by
use of an existing earlier o/s i.e. 8 key.

You know Microsoft.

They will find a way to make this as painful as possible.

Hi HS,

I have a cheat sheet on how to get the 8.1 iso from
Windows 7. Let me know it you need it.

Thanks for the offer

I have all the iso downloaded from Microsoft.

I hope this rumour is true

Hi HS,

Be nice if they did.

I think the GMOs (genetically modified organisms) that
M$ hires for its marketing department like to send out
trial balloon see how the public will react.

That is a GMO cross of a cock roach and a weasel.

If they were actually doing this, they would
"accept feedback" :-) Instead, they collect feedback via
telemetry.

I'm hoping they could see me, on the new Win10 menu,
avoiding the usage of the Start menu, and navigating
to Program Files folder and running the .exe from
there directly. One can only hope... :-)

Trouble is when you turn the lights on, they all
scurry for cover. I think it comes from the
Cock Roach part of their DNA. :-)
