Can I chhose when the Anniversary Update installs?
I am running Windows 10, Version 1511, Build 10586.589. I assume that
means that I will receive the Anniversary Update. I would like to choose when to install it either by locating a copy on the web and installing it before Microsoft decides to or by delaying the update when it arrives. Is that possible? |

You can right-click the resulting some.iso file and select "Mount". Then run Setup.exe off the resulting virtual optical drive and start the upgrade install. Make a backup of C: before you do that, just in case. Paul |

So when you install, it's going to be a lower version of 14393, and then it'll apply a Cumulative of some sort, to finish the job. The C:\Windows.old will delete itself in 10 days or so, or you can use "cleanmgr.exe" to clean up C: . I clean up right away, as I have a backup, and have no need of any "rollback" capability. If there's anything wrong with it, I just restore from my backup of C: . Paul |
