Default Hungs When Installing Virtual Modem in WinXP Media Center.

Hi, guys:

Our software needs install four virtual modem in the windows system. Two LAP
NULL modem, 1 DUN NULL modem and 1 Fax NULL modem.

The driver and the driver installer run very well in Windows 2000 and
Windows XP professional(Home) version, but the driver installer hangs(not
response) when installing these 4 modems in Windows XP Media Center Edition
Version 2002(Service Pack 2).

The program cannot return when calling UpdateDriverForPlugAndPlayDevices..
May be it is important to tell you is that these modems must be attached to
another virtual serial port driver.

I use softice to get the following information:

===========================================

VComm: Exit VCommDevice::OnCloseIrpComplete ==It means our virtual Serial
port has been closed.

===================================

I noticed that the IRP IRP_MJ_DIRECTORY_CONTROL is pending (even I don't
know which program sends this IRP).

Would you please tell me why the installer program hangs and if it is caused
by our program or other system components?

Thank you very much for reading my post and wish someone help me. :-)

Best Regards,
Goooder
