[monitor problem] WinXP does sth strange with my monitor during boot-up
Hello Everybody ;O)
I am desperatly looking for a piece of advice in following matter : I recently performed upgrade to Windows XP Professional (legal copy of course) - it was second during last week to be precise ;O). For the first time, everything worked just fine - but now between presenting graphical boot-up progress indicator and logging screen (sorry - i don't know exact english terms, because i own polish version) my monitor looks like beeing rapidly switech off an on again, with ill-sounding noise. I is _NOT_ a hardware problem - none of this happens during regular operation, changing graphical modes under both systems (Win,Lin). Nor it have taken place during last week since first installation. My display is Hyundai ImageQuest Q770 coupled with card with Savage4 on board, generating 1024x768x85Hzx16bpp (drivers for both are installed, and reported working) Any ideas about giving some relief to my monitor ? And - maybe - about booting both OSes so smart to avoid changing graphic modes several times during one minute ? Best Regards, - Antey - "Walking through the valley of death, " "I shall not fear, " "For I am at 80,000 feet and climbing..." |

Hi
I had a similar problem with a hyundai ImageQuest LS50. Ended up with a replacement due to it beeing a monitor fault. I used to boot up with the tv connected to my computer and the monitor didn't like the video mode. [monitor problem] WinXP does sth strange with my monitor during bo
Hello !
Well... after public announcment my problem just disappeared. I had a similar problem with a hyundai ImageQuest LS50. Sound bad... monitor has just arrived back after two weeks of testing & repair (mainboard replaced). So, maybe ImageQuest family isn't liked by XP ;O) Ended up with a replacement due to it beeing a monitor fault. 2 years of warranty left, so i don't worry much ;O) I used to boot up with the tv connected to my computer and the monitor didn't like the video mode. Well.. it can be it ;O) I disconnected my speakers (actually - good old amplituner with two speakers ) and XP no longers performs light&sound shows. So for now only two things bothers me : 1. Why did only WinXP make such 'show' ? 2. How i'm going to listen my music collection ;O) ? Anyway - thank you very much for your answer. - Antey - "Walking through the valley of death, " "I shall not fear, " "For I am at 80,000 feet and climbing..." |
