I was having a problem with slow shutdown on Windows 2000 because of
itouch version 2.15. I was able to fix it with a work around however. The fist thing you can try before doing the work around that I posted below, is to try version 2.13 which does not have any shutdown issues. When 2.13 is installed, however, it does not have some of the nice features that 2.15 does. To get a copy of earlier itouch driver releases go to Logitech's ftp site: ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/keyboards/itouch/ The files are named in a common sense fashion. The one you want is it213enu.exe. This may work for you. If you get an error when you press the media key with itouch 2.13 installed then you might want to try the work around posted below. The media key error was a known issue with driver version 2.13. ***The work around (this is what I am currently using) is to: 1. First install itouch version 2.15. Then copy and paste the entire itouch directory to your desktop. Just navigate to c:/program files/logitech/ and then highlight the logitech folder, click copy, then paste the entire folder to the desktop. 2. Next uninstall version 2.15. 3. Next Install version 2.13, if you don't have that version get it from the ftp site listed above. After it is installed copy the itouch folder from your desktop (from step one) into the logitech directory. When it asks you if you want to overwrite files, select "yet to all." By doing this, we have essentially modified the installation to use the itouch version 2.13 registry settings but it will now use the 2.15 exe and dll files. This worked perfectly for me. The shutdown was instantaneous and all of my keys and media players were supported the same as version 2.15. Even helpabout said version 2.15. The problem with the slow shutdown error is related to the registry entries that version 2.15 installs. Version 2.13 does not do this. The modified itouch version 2.13 with the version 2.15 executables works well with my Logitech Internet Navigator Keyboard. Other than that, you can just wait for Logitech to fix it. They know about the problem and are working on it. Here is a copy of an e-mail that I recently received from them regarding this issue: Description of Problem: Using itouch version 2.15 causes my pc to hang on shutdown or restart. I upgraded from itouch version 2.13 to version 2.15. I went back to using itouch 2.13 and all is well with shutdown and restart, but some of my media players are not supported with 2.13.
