Is the user from the one machine a member of the Administrators group on the
other? By default, only members of BUILTIN\Administrators can view the logs. Additionally, to view the security log you must have SeSecurityPrivilege. The issue is, I can't get access to the system tools event logs in event viewer on a remote xp pro client. In fact, I'm running two xp clients, and neither of them can access the other's event logs, although they can access logs on w2k clients. I can, however, access the services on both computers, but no event logs. I've tried deleting the logs and starting again, performed a couple of registry hacks that enable administrative privileges, all to no avail. . |
