Default WinDVD errors...

I keep trying to run WinDVD and coming up with the error message "cannot find wnaspi32.dll". Nither WinDVD or the Microsoft Media player can play DVDs correctly -- the display is choppy and fragmented. Does anyone know what this means or how I can fix it?
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing WinDVD but it didn't fix the problem.
