I just tried that and the Intel update site indicated that

I tried uninstalling my sound driver and re-installing a
fresh download, and this may have worked. My sound has continued to work so far. The original driver may have become corrupted. "David B." wrote in message ... I uninstalled and reinstalled my audio drivers with a fresh download, and that has now worked for several days.
