I recently got two Microsoft updates in the past few days and now .wmv files
for movies from the internet will not work. When I select on the Windows Media Player icon on the website where I am purchasing the film to watch online, I get the same message from internet explorer everytime. Here is what is says: The webpage cannot be found HTTP 404 Most likely causes: There might be a typing error in the address. If you clicked on a link, it may be out of date. What you can try: Retype the address. Go back to the previous page. Go to and look for the information you want. More information This error (HTTP 404 Not Found) means that this program was able to connect to the website, but the page you wanted was not found. It's possible that the webpage is temporarily unavailable. Alternatively, the website might have changed or removed the webpage. I have gone to the website for fixes for Windows Vista Home Premium and downloaded the fixes that sounded like they would work but nothing has changed. I have no idea what was in those updates to cause this to happen. Can anyone shed any light on how to correct this issue? Many Thanks |
