I have Win XP SP3 and am in the process of migrating folders and files
to my new WIn7 Pro desktop. Most all the transfers have gone without any problems; however when I try to transfer my family history folder with multtiple subfolders, files and copies of emails and photos I am unable to either move or copy this folder to a CD or thumb drive. I get a popup error message that tells me I cannot copy or move it. I have tried easy transfer, dragging and dropping and copy and paste and none have worked? I would really like to be able to save this folder with my years of family history searches, but seem to have hit a brick wall. Can anyone suggest a way to move or copy this folder. Frank |

Frank To get the best help you need to let us know the /exact/ wording of the error message. My guess is "too many nested folders". Create a new folder on your Win7 machine where you want to keep the photos. Now, rather than trying to copy the entire folder at once, start with the innermost folder and try copying that over and work your way back until you have them all. |

Does the size of the folder exceed the capacity of the media to which you want to copy it? If so - or even if not - copy it in smaller portions. If the error is that the path(s) are too long, simplify the folder structure, then copy. -- dadiOH ____________________________ Winters getting colder? Tired of the rat race? Taxes out of hand?
