Running XP Home. All of a sudden, System Restore is gone, and I get this
message: To turn on System Restore, contact your Domain administrator. I am the administrator. Further research tells me to run: gpedit.msc This yields "Windows cannot find..." What can I do? TIA |

That is, I deleted the values at HKLM/software/policies/microsoft/system restore. I then restarted, and System Restore was in the control panel, where 'turn off system restore' was checked, so I unchecked this. I have no prior restore points, though. I have no idea what happened to turn it off. |
