Multiboot versus VirtualOS
Hi,
On this XP machine I have two partitions of the SSD C: drive, WinXP Pro and Android_x86 V. 5.01. Multiboot is not very useful, because I need to keep XP running almost 24/7. I was wondering if anyone has experience with any emulator (like VirtualBox) that works on WinXP-32bit. Thanks in advance. --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: --- |

I've successfully used VirtualBox for a number of years, but on 64-bit Linux Hosts to run both 32-bit and 64-bit Guest OSes. The first thing you need to do is check that the CPU on your machine is suitable to run VirtualBox. Most newer than 10 years old are. The other thing is you MUST have adequate (not just the "minimum") RAM to run both OSes. Download and study the User Manual off VirtualBox's site. It is very comprehensive. Word of warning: Don't attempt to install and use VB without having first read the instructions. Otherwise, it will be an accident waiting to happen. Stef |

Not for everyone. Best to be safe and read the manual. And if I understand what the OP wants to do, that is, run his Android install off its physical partition and not a virtual disk drive as is the norm, that is not a simple set up. It requires the instructions. Personally, I would reinstall Android on a virtual drive. A lot easier. Stef |
