Default virus security on pc

I have had to re store my pc to factory settings and my internet connection
keeps going down and advising me I need to speak with ms xp or a pc expert.
Also I cannot use limewire after downloading it it says something about the
firewall and loopback I think.

mainly I am trying to be cautious because I do a lot of on line banking and
dont want my details getting into the wrong hands already had that done with
the inland revenue losing those disks.

All I need is some advice on how to check my system in simple terms if you
know what I mean thanks for your help anyway.

You stapped yourself in the foot by not answering me on your other post. It
is easy to tell you do this and do that without knowing exactly your issue
and we can make it worse thatn it is now!!!.
