Default Hard Drive Partions

Hi, Team
Please I need help, I need to know if there is any way to
partition a 80 Gigs hard drive with the Wim Xp software
without format the drive.
I tryied, and I partitoned and formatted my drive using
a startup diskkette, then I installed a upgrade version
of Windows XP (home) and it worked. The problem is that
the drives (cd-rom, cd-r/rw and dvd) that came with this
new computer they don't work properly due to the fact
that some or all the drivers that make them work are in
the restoration CD that came with the computer. And if I
use the restoration CD to istall the drivers, I loose
all the partitions I just created since the restoration
CD formats the hard drive when restores the software.
And there is no way to extract the drivers individually.
Thank you for your attention to this "Letter".
I would appreciate any kind of help.

Very Truly Yours.
