And you can't access it because you need to check Allow Attachments on OE's Tools menu, Options, Security.

Hello David.

I cannot use your attachment. I can't save it or open it.

I guess attachments are not allowed in forums ?

What's your point anyway ?

Thanks,
Tony

Attached is a list of keys in Windows. It prints to about 22 pages. It also
has a 1/2 written diagnostic section.

My apologies to everyone that replied to my problem.

I just realized that when a windows message pops up, you can simply do a
ctrl-c and use something like Notepad to ctrl-v. It pastes the error in
text format.

Sorry folks. I never knew you could do that.

All this time, whenever i wanted to save a message window, i would
alt-print
screen, open paint and ctrl-v, then save the paint file.

Thanks,
Tony

Hello.

Does anybody know how to get the text from a windows message into a forum
message without typing it verbatim from the message itself ?

I ask a lot of questions on these forums and it has been very helpful and
i would like to continue to do so. But when you have to post an error
message you get from windows, the only way i know to do it is to type the
message.

I tried pasting the message to the forum in HTML format, but some people
don't use HTML and therefore do not see what i am posting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

David.

Thanks for that document. Very helpful. And thanks for the tip on how to
use the attachments from forum messages.

Actually, i always knew about cut and paste using the keyboard, i just
didn't know that it worked on windows message screens.

Thanks again for all your help. These forums are a great help and it's
because of people like you. Keep up the great work.

It's a fairly new feature. Only since Win ME or Win 2000.

You can also hold down Alt + Print Screen to capture an active window, that
way you don't have to paste your entire desktp into word or whatever.

If this is from error or message box, the safest way is to
use "event viewer" from application error window and bring
up the item in the view text box. Click on the small paper
icon in upper right corner, then paste into your news post
or text editor. The viewer is accessible from admin tools.
Locate this in start menu options for HE or control
panelperformance and maintenance for the XPpro.HE will need
to be turned on and ok'd to appear on start menu. You should
not leave this feature on, but copy the 'event viewer'
shortcut to the desktop, so you can use it when you need to.

Is your quality found on this list??

Thanks Lester - this is new to me too

I hope I never need to use the feature
