Greetings,

Yes you can, there's:
http://www.onlinestatus.org

or other tools like Web2Messenger:
http://www.web2messenger.com

Microsoft doesn't provide anyway for you to show your status though.

Is it possible to display a Messenger user's current online status (online, offline, away,
not available) and a hyperlink to send him/her a message?

It has been possible to display current online status for an ICQ user number as an image:
http://status.icq.com/online.gif?icq=95149395
or to launch an ICQ window for composing the message:
http://www.icq.com/people/cmd.php?ui...action=message

Skype provides similar services: You can display user's current online status
http://mystatus.skype.com/smallicon/theptcompany
(he/she has to enable this in the client settings) or start various actions by clinking on
hyperlinks:

callto://theptcompany

skype:theptcompany?chat

skype:theptcompany?voicemail

skype:theptcompany?userinfo

Does Microsoft offer such hyperlinks and online status indicators for Messenger users? If
not, is there any 3rd party service available?
