Default How to add Messenger Live chat box to my website?

I have read a few websites showing how it can be done. I do not see any of the settings
they state I should configure.

Can this be done or was it in Beta test and no longer available?

Hi,

I've taken the HTML code from the messenger site and included it on my
page. I log onto messenger and set my status to online (and under
privacy in options I allow everybody to see my status) but the chat box
on my website still shows that I am offline.

What's going on here?

Greetings,

You'll need to set yourself to allow your status to be shown to the web:
http://settings.messenger.live.com/a...bSettings.aspx

and make sure the 'Allow anyone on the web to see my presence and send me messages. ' is
selected, then choose Save at the top.

If you've already done that before it's possible you need to refresh the setting (for some
reason it can sometimes lie). To do that, uncheck it, choose Save, and then go back and turn
it on again.
