As you don't say what sort of XP you have, do the following: For XP Pro, at the Welcome screen press Ctl-Alt-Del twice. For XP Home edition, boot up into Safe Mode when the log-on for the built-in Administrator account will appear. HTH |

Simply log in using the built-in Administrator account (which cannot be deleted) and modify the desired account(s) and use Start Run "control userpasswords2" to modify the desired account(s). By design, the only way to log into the Administrator account of WinXP Home is to reboot into Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at the Welcome Screen will produce the standard login dialog box. Are you just perusing through groups and responding to as many 'forgotten/lost password' posts as you can? ;-) I gave you an answer that should give you everything and more that you might need. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |
