I've been experiencing hold-ups with the search egine I've used for
years (www.google.co.uk). Only occasional blips. I changed to Bing
(www.bing.com) and so far so good.
Anybody else having trouble with the UK google. I might try
www.google.com when I get time.
Ah, I just tried the latter and got routed to www.google.co.uk

Have you tried clearing the cache of your browser?

I've had no problems at all with www.google.co.uk
It's almost instant with anything I ask it. Even using voice control.

You can also try DuckDuckGo. I heard that they don't track searches
like bing and google. Of course it's somewhat useless since I search
Lowe's for a dehumidifier a week ago and now all I get are ads for
dehumidifiers. So why not let google or bing add you to the list.

I use Chrome to do all the Google search and browser work. It does not
result in parasitic ads of any sort.

When you do

nslookup www.google.co.uk

what IP address or addresses do you get ?

Maybe Ed can compare his nslookup result, to yours,
to see if they're the same.

I'm in Canada, and my DNS result should not be the
same as yours. It's possible the first address in the
list, is physically closest to the country in question,
but who knows.

Exactly the same for me here, except that I use Firefox (with Adblock Plus).

Have you actually tried it?
You should do, instead of wasting time here.
Your homework tonight is to figure out how to make google.COM stick.
And then, and only then, to let us all know the solution; oh, and
without HTML.

To avoid being re-routed to Google UK all the time use the /ncr switch

Some time ago that stopped working for me, got
redirected to .nl
Now it seems to work again. Thanks.
