AVG software not updating
I have been using AVG antivirus software for years with great success ,
however about a week it started not being able to update new virus protection files. I looked everywhere possible for answers and cannot find anything. If any one knows a remedy it would be greatly appreciated. I'm assuming it must have to do with a recent update from Microsoft. I am using Windows XP sp2. |

First, make sure you're using the latest supported version, and if you can't find anything regarding your error messages in a google search, I'd check to see if there's an AVG support forum. I use AVG free edition in a couple of places and am not seeing this problem. |

If it's the free version, AVG has forums for support. If it's a paid
version, they offer email support. Thank you for your quick response, however I did try to find something on
their website. But not helpful. "Tom Willett" wrote: If it's the free version, AVG has forums for support. If it's a paid version, they offer email support. But, did you actually use the forum and ask your question there?

AVG software not updating
I also use the AVG free version (7.5) in a couple of places and have not
experienced any problems. You might try uninstalling and reinstalling it. -- Tom Zucker-Scharff Systems Administrator "Isuzugirl" wrote: I have been using AVG antivirus software for years with great success , however about a week it started not being able to update new virus protection files. Then run the update inside AVG specifying the manually downloaded updates as the input source. I have not have this problem with my installation of AVG Free edition. |
