Treat your error as a 0x000000d1 error.

Type verifier in Start Run, follow the wizard but choose All Drivers.
This will slow down your computer and cause more blue screen crashes
but will pinpoint what is causing the crash (if the original error
message didn't). Once you fix it you rerun verifier and turn it off.

If you can't start after enabling verifier
choose Last Known Good Configuration at the Failed Boot menu (which
will
start without verifier).

You will be creating a crash dump file in c:\windows\minidump every
blue screen. Make sure you are set to record minidumps (Small Memory
Dumps) - type it in Help to see how.

Then

If you have the XP SP2 Security Update CD (else see
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/Â*devt...mbolpkg.mÂ*spx
)

Install symbols from CD Drive Letter:\SUPPORT\SYMBOLS

Download
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtoo...nstallx86.mspx

Load the crash dump file into windbg
and read what it says. You may need to tell it where the symbols are.
Read it.
Type
!Analyze -v
into Windbg's command line.
(this will hopefully tell you the faulty component)

If the above is too technical then email the crash dump files to david
@ mvps.org. Don't send me lots of them. Just the one from your last
crash after you turn verifier on. And only one per mail.

You can look up specific details here
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...0bd501.xml.asp

If it indicates faulty memory might be the cause you can get a memory
tester
here
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/wiÂ*ndiag.asp

If it mentions a core windows system file, meaning it a MS fix is
required,
upload a minidump to

http://oca.microsoft.com

Also try typing the main error code in Help while online (ie,
Stop 0x50
and also try in the 8 digit form
stop 0x00000050)
and if there are too many hits use a filename if available. Generally
memory
addresses are different for each computer (as each computer has a
different
mix of drivers) so parameters that are memory addresses aren't that
useful for searching, but NTStatus codes are (plus you can look them
up here
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.p...atus.h?rev=1.2).

If this doesn't work try

Get your XP CD and install Windows Support Tools.

Type in start run after installing and rebooting

pstat "%userprofile%\desktop\driverlÂ*ist.txt"

The last table in this file is a list of loaded drivers. Other things
apart
from hardware uses drivers. Post the list of drivers (the last table
only -
REPEAT THE LAST TABLE O N L Y ) or match the fault address to the
driver.

This will allow you to match memory addresses to a driver.

Run this minidump C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini120805-01.dmp from your first message through windbg. Verifier may cause crashes that are unrelated to the original problem. If so it means there is a second problem that you don't hit normally.

Type in Start Run

Check properties on it. This is a multimedia thingy. Does that allow you to connect any dots.

Just that - it looks normal. I had meant to add type SFC /scannow so it will be replaced if there is any corruption in the file.

And the other things.

Treat your error as a 0x000000d1 error.

Type verifier in Start Run, follow the wizard but choose All Drivers. This will slow down your computer and cause more blue screen crashes but will pinpoint what is causing the crash (if the original error message didn't). Once you fix it you rerun verifier and turn it off.

If you can't start after enabling verifier
choose Last Known Good Configuration at the Failed Boot menu (which will
start without verifier).

You will be creating a crash dump file in c:\windows\minidump every blue screen. Make sure you are set to record minidumps (Small Memory Dumps) - type it in Help to see how.

Then

If you have the XP SP2 Security Update CD (else see
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/Â*devt...mbolpkg.mÂ*spx
)

Install symbols from CD Drive Letter:\SUPPORT\SYMBOLS

Download
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtoo...nstallx86.mspx

Load the crash dump file into windbg
and read what it says. You may need to tell it where the symbols are. Read it.
Type
!Analyze -v
into Windbg's command line.
(this will hopefully tell you the faulty component)

If the above is too technical then email the crash dump files to david @ mvps.org. Don't send me lots of them. Just the one from your last crash after you turn verifier on. And only one per mail.

You can look up specific details here
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...0bd501.xml.asp

If it indicates faulty memory might be the cause you can get a memory tester
here
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/wiÂ*ndiag.asp

If it mentions a core windows system file, meaning it a MS fix is required,
upload a minidump to

http://oca.microsoft.com

Also try typing the main error code in Help while online (ie,
Stop 0x50
and also try in the 8 digit form
stop 0x00000050)
and if there are too many hits use a filename if available. Generally memory
addresses are different for each computer (as each computer has a different
mix of drivers) so parameters that are memory addresses aren't that useful for searching, but NTStatus codes are (plus you can look them up here http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.p...atus.h?rev=1.2).

If this doesn't work try

Get your XP CD and install Windows Support Tools.

Type in start run after installing and rebooting

pstat "%userprofile%\desktop\driverlÂ*ist.txt"

The last table in this file is a list of loaded drivers. Other things apart
from hardware uses drivers. Post the list of drivers (the last table only -
REPEAT THE LAST TABLE O N L Y ) or match the fault address to the driver.

This will allow you to match memory addresses to a driver.

Default Computer keeps restarting

I didn't try because I dont know what pstat is. I know hex.
This is latest report after another crash:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x100000d1
(0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xf71d970f). A dump was saved in:
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini120905-01.dmp.

Do you think it could be network related. This is common
error entry (everytime XP starts and I think but I'm not sure
that it doesn't crash if I'm not conected to ADSL):

Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the
DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 444553547777. The
following error occurred:
An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket. . Your
computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the
network address (DHCP) server.

I have to wait for cca 5 minutes everytime machine restarts, so I can connect
to internet.

AVG should be reliable. I had installed Aluria Anti-Spyware and had similar
problems except it used to reboot whenever a USB device was removed from the
PC. It came up with a BSOD along the lines of IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
Is there any blue screen of death? It may just flash up before it reboots.

but will pinpoint what is causing the crash (if the original error
message didn't). Once you fix it you rerun verifier and turn it
off.

If you can't start after enabling verifier
choose Last Known Good Configuration at the Failed Boot menu (which
will
start without verifier).

You will be creating a crash dump file in c:\windows\minidump every
blue screen. Make sure you are set to record minidumps (Small
Memory
Dumps) - type it in Help to see how.

Then

If you have the XP SP2 Security Update CD (else see
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/*devto...ymbolpkg.m*spx
)

Install symbols from CD Drive Letter:\SUPPORT\SYMBOLS

Download
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtoo...nstallx86.mspx

Load the crash dump file into windbg
and read what it says. You may need to tell it where the symbols
are.
Read it.
Type
!Analyze -v
into Windbg's command line.
(this will hopefully tell you the faulty component)

If the above is too technical then email the crash dump files to
david
@ mvps.org. Don't send me lots of them. Just the one from your last
crash after you turn verifier on. And only one per mail.

You can look up specific details here
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...0bd501.xml.asp

If it indicates faulty memory might be the cause you can get a
memory
tester
here
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/wi*ndiag.asp

If it mentions a core windows system file, meaning it a MS fix is
required,
upload a minidump to

http://oca.microsoft.com

Also try typing the main error code in Help while online (ie,
Stop 0x50
and also try in the 8 digit form
stop 0x00000050)
and if there are too many hits use a filename if available.
Generally
memory
addresses are different for each computer (as each computer has a
different
mix of drivers) so parameters that are memory addresses aren't that
useful for searching, but NTStatus codes are (plus you can look
them
up here
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.p...atus.h?rev=1.2).

If this doesn't work try

Get your XP CD and install Windows Support Tools.

Type in start run after installing and rebooting

pstat "%userprofile%\desktop\driverl*ist.txt"

The last table in this file is a list of loaded drivers. Other
things
apart
from hardware uses drivers. Post the list of drivers (the last
table
only -
REPEAT THE LAST TABLE O N L Y ) or match the fault address to the
driver.

This will allow you to match memory addresses to a driver.

Default Computer keeps restarting

Hi there....

I also have this problem with my desktop. I´ve ran some hardware performance
tests during a whole day but nothing wrong was detected. Don´t know what it´d
be, so I ask your holy wisdom to help me...please...

The message the system registered was:

O computador foi reinicializado através de uma verificação de defeito. Essa
verificação foi: 0x00000024 (0x001902fe, 0xef8c249c, 0xef8c2198, 0xf72c39c4).
Um despejo de memória foi salvo em: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini062207-01.dmp.

Would You know what´d it be?

Thanks,

Lester

I am having same issue with my mom's laptop. It is older Dell Insperion but
was delivered with XP. First time I boot it runs for maybe 1/2 hour. Then
BSOD occurs at random and it begins rebooting automatically. (I will disable
auto reboot as described in previous post so i can read msg! ) Then intervals
between subsequent BSOD's becomes shorter and shorter. Until eventually PC
starts to reboot before it has finished previous boot up and goes into this
loop indefinitely.

I will post again with error msg on BSOD. Thanks

SGR - just your average Windows XP user

I am experiencing same problem. My laptop wont even complete booting up
before BSOD appears. It will run in safe mode though. Here is what My BSOD
says:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart yor
computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is propoerly installed. It
h this is a new installation, ask you hardware or software manufacturer for
any windows updates you might need.

I f problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or
software. Disable BIOS memory options such as cashing or shadowing. I f you
need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer,
press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select save mode.

Technical information:
*** STOP: 0X000000D1 (0X0A2B001B, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0XF3E0F91A)

*** tcpip.sys - ADDRESS F3E0F91A base at F3E0C000, DateStamp 3b7dc580

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator (me LOL!) or technical support group (you
guys LOL!) for further assistance.

Let me know if any of the above tells you anything that can help me resolve
my issue. I wouldl really appreciate it. Thanks.

Default Computer keeps restarting

My computer has the same problem. It keeps restarting itself, sometimes
before it even loads. I get error reports, and when I send them a new webpage
opens saying something about the error report being corrupted due to a
serious problem with my hardware. The steps say to go to remove any new
programs I've installed, but not only will the add/remove programs thing not
load, but I haven't even added anything new to my computer for at least 6
months now! And by the time I try to get through reading the whole
instructions on fixing the problem, my computer restarts again. I am writing
this message on a laptop. Please help ! Thank you !

go to start/run, and type:
shutdown /A

This will stop the restarting, and let you read the error message (blue
screen text), which Might include a filename that would give you a hint
about what software or hardware was causing the restart.

Default Computer keeps restarting

I tried that, and it seemed to work, my computer stayed on a couple minutes
longer than usual, then it restarted again! Thanks anyways! Another problem
is it says my firewall and virus protection are off, and when i go to check
them it says they're on, but only sometimes. I try turning it on when its
off, and it won't work, it says something about a computer problem not
allowing it to enable. I am the administrator of the computer, so I don't
know why it won't work. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!
