How can I change the startup music?
It's always the little things that annoy me. W7 has a checkbox to play
(or not) Windows startup music. But unlike the other sounds, there is no way to select a different or custom startup sound, which I want to do. I can't even find the media file the Windows uses! Can anybody help me? -- Crash "The fewer the facts, the stronger the opinion." ~ Arnold H. Glasow ~ |

The Windows Startup Sound in Windows 7, unlike the other sounds, is not selectable. You can only turn it on or off. I tried using the logon sound, but that only works if I log off and then log back on, which I don't do when I restart. I'm the only user and always logged on. -- Crash "Update" and "upgrade" are not synonyms. |

I did, and found this. http://www.sevenforums.com/customiza...tup-sound.html but it may be more trouble than it's worth. -- Crash "The fewer the facts, the stronger the opinion." ~ Arnold H. I just changed my Windows 7 logon sound Chris Farley's " Well LADEEFRICKINDA." As a matter of fact, I can load any sound I like. Right click on on the sound icon in the taskbar and select sounds. If you're talking about the jingle when the Windows logo appears, disregard everything I just said. :-) -- "Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you." |

Yeah, just checked Sound settings in control panel and looks like they took that out from the list you could manually change to play whatever for event. Only a tick box for startup sounds depending on what theme you're using of course unless you can manually set it by making a new theme or something there instead. -- Skipai |
