HELP - Set up Home Networking **doesn't exist?**
Hi there,
I am trying to set up a home network using the New Connection Wizard. When I select that, it goes straight to the "Completing New Connection Wizard" where it prompts me to click on the Finish button. When I do that, the whole process just drops into noth ingness. The computer doesn't freeze up...it just acts as though I never tried to set up a network. When I go to Start - Help and Support - Networking and the Web and I select the Home Networking option, it lists a bunch of topics, but when I click on every one that has to do with Networking, the results are blank. Also, when I click Start - Connect to - Show All Connections, the results are completely blank, like I have no connections, however I DO have a working DSL connection, so that connection just seems to be hidden or otherwise not recognized when I try to " show" it. It feels like the whole Networking chunk of XP is missing and XP is not capable of creating a network. How can I best restore that so I can set up a home network? Reinstall XP from scratch? UG! HELP! What's going on? -Spencer Holmes |
