Default IIS - need help getting to run

I'm not entirely sure this is the area for a question like this but there
wasn't a clear cut IIS newsgroup area. Anyways, if anyone can help it would
be appreciated . I just installed IIS that came on the XP Pro disc and am
trying to get it working, when I try to open http://localhost/localstart.asp
I get a 500 Internal server error and I'm not sure why. I can't seem to find
anything within the knowledge base of Microsoft's site to help. I'm not sure
what else I should post to help so if there are questions that I can answer
to help further resolve this glitch, please feel free to ask.

Do you actually have an ASP application? Did you program the
localstart.asp file yourself?

You may have to set up your base folder as an application in the
IIS administration, otherwise ASP may not do anything.
