Camera to computer (IEEE1394).

I'm now using Windows XP. Somehow the firewire seems to
be unable to detect my Panasonic video cam.

Can someone help me, please?

Thanks a million!

Default IEEE 1394

have my solution!

I bought a new cable. After a hundred other things I tried... At first I was
sure it couldn't be the cable, because I could use it to connect my other
computer with the notebook. But then, on a forum (www.dvboard.com) I found
someone saying that Sonycamcorders didn't work with all firewirecables as
they aren't all built in the same way. So I get to the shop to try another
cable and it worked!!!! Immediately, the notebook had a chimesignal and told
me it found new-hardware and I could immediately go to moviemaker and was
able to capture my video.

The first cable I had has "E119932 5u AWM 80°C 30V 20276 VW-1 copartner"

The new one has: "20276 E87647 DG 5u AWM 80°C 30V VW-1" On the box, it says
it's a firewirecable for connecting camcorders. Its made by HAMA.

For the first one I paid ? 9, the new one was ?16.

Maybe this information is usefull to others?

Thanks to everyone that tried to help me out. I spent a lot of time to try
all things, and eh well... learned a lot of new stuff anyway!
