Don't be ashamed; there's nothing built in to do this. You need a small
program called srvany.exe from the Resource Kit. Download it he
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/winnt...srvany_x86.exe
I've never run this on a workstation, but it's supposed to work.

Hi

One small problem, you will need to get hold of instsrv.exe as well
as srvany.exe, and unfortunately that one is not available from the
NT4 ftp download area.

A workaround (if you don't have access to the full NT4 RK on CD, or
Win2k Resource Kit), is to use the instsrv/srvany files in the NT 3.5
Resource Kit that is available as a free download. More he

Hi

You can also use a product like Service+ from Nicoware.

We are using it on our servers and workstations without any problems.
Can even run Java programs as a service.
