Is there a proxy in USA which give me an US IP ?
I am (currently) from Europe but some services are only available to US/North Amaerican IPs.
So what I need is an US proxy service which shows an US IP to the target service provider. Can someone recommend me a such an US proxy ? Security/Encryption welcomed but not absolutely necessary. Ken |

Is there a proxy in USA which give me an US IP ?
I don't know anything about "proxy servers," but from the common definition
of the word "proxy," it is pretty obvious that the word "stand-in" would serve as a synonym. So Ken would communicate with said proxy server, and that proxy would "fool" said service with its USA-located IP identity? Why should this be legal? It seems to breach the intent of the implied prohibition of use. Why would this be free of monetary cost? Don't you suppose there is some legal exposure by the provider of the proxy server? -- Sent via OE by John, from MERCURY "Chuck [MVP]" wrote in message ... Ken Ken, The best way to find free proxy servers, in a current list, is to Google for "free proxy server". Then laboriously peruse the list, looking for ".com" and ".net" URLs. Most will be USA based. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...oogle+Searc h I use 3 right now, and I think all 3 are USA based. YMMV. http://www.ninjaproxy.com/ http://www.freeproxyserver.net/ http://www.youhide.com/ -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP 2005-2007 [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience. All good questions, and all bear asking, so I'll leave you to investigate what's available. Proxy servers are good solutions for several problems, though their use can cause problems in other cases. Most proxy servers provide limited service for free (enough to read most web sites), and charge for full service (to post to most web sites). And they liberally adorn their displays with advertisements in the free part. http://bloggerstatusforreal.blogspot.com/search?q=proxy+server http://bloggerstatusforreal.blogspot...q=proxy+server -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP 2005-2007 [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience. Can someone recommend me a such an US proxy ? Sure, just use Google and search on "free proxy list". Pick IPs from whatever country you want. Alot won't work, but some will. Check them with a command line tool first, which is faster, instead of having to reconfigure the browser's settings a hundred times. -- [** America, the police state **] Whoooose! What's that noise? Why, it's US citizen's rights, going down the toilet with Bush flushing. http://www.wired.com/politics/securi...007/08/wiretap http://www.hermes-press.com/police_state.htm |
