Default Flash drive with indicator light

I know Centon and Kingston flash drives have indicator lights that flash during writes/reads.

Anyone know of other brands that do also ?

Most stores keep them locked up, so you can't tell before buying one.

Thanks,
ANdy

Just google below keywords including the quotes.

"USB" "flash" "drive" "specifications" "LED"

e.g. for Corsair drives:

"corsair" "USB" "flash" "drive" "specifications" "LED"

When you're interrested on a USB flash drive in one or more shops, take a
note of their brand and model then look for their speifications from the
internet.

Or just do it while shopping using your phone to google the drive specs.
e.g. if you're interested on a 64GB Corsair Flash Voyager google it like
this: (long text warning)

"corsair" "flash voyager" "64gb" "USB" "flash" "drive" "specifications"
"LED"

Default Flash drive with indicator light - google's behaviour

JJ,

Or just do it while shopping using your phone to google the drive
specs.
e.g. if you're interested on a 64GB Corsair Flash Voyager google
it like this: (long text warning)

"corsair" "flash voyager" "64gb" "USB" "flash" "drive"
"specifications" "LED"

Shucks, I was almost sure that the above would be regarded as an "or"
clause, causing google to return a *lot* of junk pages. Instead I got a
number of pages which included most, if not all of the above keyphrases ...

Is quoting everything googles new way (documented?) to create an "and"
search, or is this just luck ?

I used search engines before most people ever knew they existed. The
old IBM "RETAIN" system (from the 1960s) also had a "not" tag so you
could eliminate things you did not want to see. I have never seen that
in a internet based search. Maybe I just don't know the trick.

Yes, I was wondering what the "" were for (except around "flash voyager"
where they enclose a phrase). But then I use the advanced search page
(https://www.google.co.uk/advanced_search?hl=en in my case), where the
first box is labelled "all these words:" anyway, so maybe the default on
the default page _is_ now OR (which I have as my third box, labelled
"any of these words:").

Certainly, I haven't seen a page describing the syntax for some time
(used to be +word meant it had to be there, -word meant it mustn't,
"xxxx yyyy" meant the specific phrase, and so on).

AFAIK, without any operator, Google searches using OR by default. That's
what I thought, at least. But according to Google's guide:

http://www.googleguide.com/interpreting_queries.html#AND

It says that the default operator is indeed an AND, an implicit AND that is
- which is described at section 12. It says:

"Implicit AND
Google returns pages that match all your search terms. Because you don't
need to include the logical operator AND between your terms, this notation
is called an implicit AND."

That's what Google said, but actual result says otherwise. I still consider
the default search is using the OR operator.

IMO, Google uses a fuzzy search that include similar words as matching
words. Google later added the Verbatim search to disable it but later on,
it's no longer work and the only way to disable it is to manually add
"nfpr=1" URL variable onto the Gogle search URL. e.g.

http://www.google.com/search?q=exact+search

Become:

http://www.google.com/search?q=exact+search&nfpr=1

Then later, that URL variable no longer work again; and now I'm out of idea
on how to turn off that fuzzy search.

I guessed that nfpr stands for "no fuzzy prediction search result" (I'm not
a native English speaker, BTW).

nfpr is just one of several undocumented Google search URL variables. Some
others that you may have already seen:

At the very least, you can eliminate sites with -site:youtube.com

I hadnt' thought of excluding a site like this -- good to know -- but
otoh, in the case of youtube, I just say -youtube , and that works
too.

JJ,

That's what Google said, but actual result says otherwise.
I still consider the default search is using the OR operator.

Thats why I was surprised when I saw the results. :-)

And thanks for the "added arguments" info. Although I did search for it a
few times, I never was able to find anything alike you have posted.
