Can config the printer direct print at command prompt?
GBE,
Please Help! My problem is when I'm using DOS base software to print the document, the printer(Epson dot matrix)will wait a few minute or wait for another document send to print then it start printing. if you try to DIR LPT1: is slow too or this happens only when a DOS app is printing? If it's the latter, probably your DOS app. is not closing the printer port at the end of the print job, so it will stay into the spooler until the timeout value is reached. The best solution should be to fix the DOS app. If you cannot, you can try to change the timeout value. I remember you can do it by WIN.INI or by the Registry, but I have not the instructions at hand. Try to search old messages in this NG for "slow printing under dos".
