laptop with new HDD
I bought a laptop with the HDD removed. I am putting in a 120gb ssd in a
plastic hd sized adapter. If I then install the correct Win7 edition (eg Home Premium 64bit) off any old download or DVD will I then be able to validate it with the product key off the back of the laptop, or has MS made this more complicated? Ta. TW |

Ta. TW Yes provided install dvd is same "version" of Windows, e.g. Home, Pro etc. I do it all the time and I have no idea what disk goes with what key anymore when same versions Thanks, yes it was okay. I had to ring the automated MS license line and spend a few minutes keying in numbers but it was all accepted, validated and verified in 10 mins. TW |
