I got a fake virus!
Got an email telling me to erase something and later
found out it was supposedly a file for viruses in Windows. Email said I got the virus through someone's adress book and to send it to everyone in my adress book. Is this real or did I do something stupid. File was: jdbgmgr.exe with a teddy bear icon next to it Please Help, Jay |

I got a fake virus!
So, hopefully, you have learned a couple of things:
1. Don't believe everything you read via email 2. Learn to use Google to do your own search on a topic 2a. In this case a Google search of 'jdmgr.exe hoax' would have given you your answer 3. Generally speaking, if you are up to date on your virus protection, you don't have much to worry about -kw "Jay" wrote in message ... I got a fake virus!
Use a fake anti-virus program to get rid of this fake virus. You don't
really need this program, so just chalk it up to experience and don't trust any more email attachments from strangers. -- Kent W. England, Microsoft MVP for Windows "Jay" wrote in message ...
