SSD Fitting Question

wrote: I have an old Dell Latitude D610 with a 'standard' 2.5 80GB spinning rust drive, but the small size of the latter has always been a thorough nuisance, and, although I haven't too much money to throw at it, I'm wondering whether I might upgrade either the whole PC or at least the drive. Thanks for all the replies. I haven't had time to respond individually, but I have been reading them all. I'm particularly grateful for the reminders about IDE/SATA connections, because this old laptop is indeed IDE while the SSD that I linked is indeed SATA - a decade ago I'd've noticed that without prompting, but I guess I'm getting to the age of senior moments! So, in addition to the drive that I linked, I've bought a second-hand/used Dell Precision M4300 which has SATA connectors, and will fit in the same docking station as this laptop - after all it's (almost) my birthday! I take the point about larger drives, but really I need to be spending as much as possible of any spare cash that I have on the house. Thanks again to all. -- ================================================== ====== Please always reply to ng as the email in this post's header does not exist. SSD Fitting Question

Are you looking for a new best friend upon which to don your excessive wealth? I could help take care of the excess. Get a girlfriend. That'll take care of the excess. When money is burning a hole in your pocket, don't put it in your front pants pockets. Too close to the crown jewels. |
