Mark Twain died in 1910...If you were one year old at the time he said it to
you, you'd be 104-105 today. It's amazing you can still remember what he
said to your face.

But then again, Mark might be right about lies. g

No one can get the puck past you Winnie......... geez.

I suspect Stormin' Norman was being facetious, his comment made me
chuckle.

I have reason to think that Stormin' Norman is over 100 years old.

Of course, I count in octal...

World has around 5,000,000,000.00 human beings.

In octal I am somewhere between 130 - 137. Thanks for caring.

Of course I didn't know that, but to restrict my earlier post to what I
actually *knew* wouldn't have been any fun.

And that's a good bit older than I would have guessed.

Thanks for sharing :-)

Really more like 7 billion (Stormin' Norman gave a more precise number),
but all that it take to make what I wrote to be true is that the
population be over 3.79 billion, based on The Scream's numbers.

I'm guessing you missed my mathematical humor.

I multiplied the sales by a safety factor of 1.3 because we are already in
2015.

Why the decimal point? :-)

Actually, the population of the planet is estimated as being:

7,305,746,300

5 Billion was a while ago.

From these numbers you would think everyone is Irish Catholic or
Mormon.....

http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/

Or, perhaps a lot of the world doesn't have access to affordable birth control.

Abstinence is free, but maybe you consider self-responsibility as being too much
to expect?

See the orange line ?

http://vcebiology.edublogs.org/files...2_sigmoid1.jpg

Science says the problem is solved.
Although you might not like the mortality
numbers near the upper flat portion
of the orange curve.

I was taught about that curve, in grade 10 biology.
And some book with "Rachel Carson - Limits to Growth" in the title ?

The middle of the curve, "competition for limited resources",
will also be an interesting phase.

There were also experiments involving Drosophila Melanogaster.
I'm surprised I still remember how to spell that. Banana plus
large glass jar plus flies equals "what a mess" :-)

Everything is under control. Mother Nature gives her guarantee.
Satisfaction guaranteed or your money refunded.

By then, we'll be on Mars, and the aliens will need
a large can of "RAID House and Garden" to get rid of us.

By the time the curve becomes reality the aliens will need to speak
Chinese or Spanish to communicate.

They'll just beam directly to and from our brains, no need to bother
with such parochial things as languages.

I have the above on good authority, of course, namely the Reynolds
Aluminum & Haberdashery Company.

Three things come immediately come to mind when pondering on what they
might say (or beam into our brains).
- Breakfast, lunch or dinner.

i.e. Earthling hash browns, Great American burger, Homo-Sapiens Steak

Yes - I prefer vegetarian aliens...it's much safer, all in all.

That's how I see it, if technically capable of getting here, it's not
going to be the Star Trek 'first contact' approach.
