Default commdlg.dll

when loading cds or dvds in my windows XP machine, commdlg
error message appears - cannot find commdlg.dll, and cd
does not run

Chances are that commdlg.dll is still there but was replaced by some other
program that installed an earlier version of the dll.

With the winxp cd in the cdrom drive click on Start/Run and type in SFC
/SCANNOW then click OK or press the enter key.

That will scan your system files and replace earlier versions or corrupted
ones and should replace the outdated commdlg.dll or install it if, in fact,
it is really gone.
