Default SONY DVD-ROM

-----Original Message-----
I purchase this SONY DVD-ROM, 16x, Internal and I tried
to install it in my Wins XP and when I start up my pc,
windows will not open but instead telling me that
something is wrong (in that type of subject just

saying).
The set up CD is installed but still nothing. There is
one connector on my interface cable comming from my cd-
writer and I am using that to connect this DVD-ROM to.

Is
this correct? I hope you can understand my problem here.
If you have any idea's on what to do, could use the help!

Thank you
.
Well, let me see. If you are trying to connect a burner

and a dvd drive to the same ribbon you might get into
some trouble, connect them both to seperate ribbons and
make sure your jumper settings are correct.

Wrong! I have a CD-RW and a Sony DVD-RW on the same cable and both work
perfectly. Jumpers are not set correctly, and the DVD has to be the master
with the Cd/CD-R as slave.
