What do we know about SlimJet for Win XP browsing ? Other than what their website posts. Anybody have real world experience.? Pros and cons ? |

A portable browser or email client has some advantages, since you can install it on a thumb drive, and run it from there on any compatible machine. +1 -- Web based forums are like subscribing to 10 different newspapers and having to visit 10 different news stands to pickup each one. Email list-server groups and USENET are like having all of those newspapers delivered to your door every morning. |

Another advantage is that it doesn't install anything, so there is less chance of messing up your system. I say that because some program installations and uninstallations can, and occasionally do, mess up a few things. That said, I normally prefer to use the installer versions for most programs, and just keep a system image backup, just in case things go awry. |
