Default Messenger 4.7 Tab Bar question

Hi - is it possible to add items to the Tab Bar on the left side of
Messenger 4.7?

Here's an example of what I would like to do:

Thanks

Greetings Joe,

You can, if you write an application that uses the DirectPlay APIs, obviously if you're not a
programmer, then no.

Default Messenger 4.7 Tab Bar question

Hi again - no, I am not a programmer, although in college I did write a few
simple programs on a DECwriter in 1975 or 1976. I don't even remember what
language - probably BASIC.

Do you know of any programs written that will do what I want to do?

Thanks

Joe

Default Messenger 4.7 Tab Bar question

Hi Joe,

There was a few applications a few years ago that let you "add" items to the list (which you
can also do with some creative registry editing), but that's all they did, add -- there was
no real functionality, which I assume you would want. There's a number of applications that
will add their *own* entries to the list, for example Microsoft Portrait
(http://research.microsoft.com/~jiangli/portrait), Age of Empires 2, Chessmaster (yes, games
are the primary user of this functionality).

Ok - thanks once again Jonathan. I never even heard of Microsoft Portrait.
Thanks for the link.
