Change W10 File Associiation?

I want to set the file association for .jpg to Irfanview, but can't
seem to. I must have missed something. Anyone tell me how?

Type assoc in search and on this laptop.

In past versions of Windows, you could change the file associations in
Irfanview.


In Irvanview: Options, Properties and Settings, Extensions.

I am not sure that it still works in Windows 10.

I have used Irfanview for many years, and it gets carried over as I up
grade the OS, so sometimes I don't know if things change in the new
version since it uses the old settings.

Still have to check though. I have run into association problems. Last
problem was between Money Dance and Quicken.

I have a my CorelDraw PHOTO-Paint editor set for "Open" default action
for images, but wanted to add a new action "View" for IrfanView. This
was a simple process in Windows XP and earlier but because a frustrating
delve into the registry now, since images are a "special" file and
editing the entry in HCR\file-extension won't work.

Here is my reg file for 32-bit Irfanview...just edit path if you are
using 64-bit

Why not do it from Default Apps? Is this difficult with old people?
Windows 10 has ability to set default Apps but some of you don't seem to
know about it.
