Default Change W10 File Associiation?

I want to set the file association for .jpg to Irfanview, but can't
seem to. I must have missed something. Anyone tell me how?
I am in W10.

In past versions of Windows, you could change the file associations in
Irfanview.

In Irvanview:Â*Â* Options, Properties and Settings, Extensions.

I am not sure that it still works in Windows 10.

I have used Irfanview for many years, and it gets carried over as I up
grade the OS, so sometimes I don't know if things change in the new
version since it uses the old settings.

I have a my CorelDraw PHOTO-Paint editor set for "Open" default action
for images, but wanted to add a new action "View" for IrfanView. This
was a simple process in Windows XP and earlier but because a frustrating
delve into the registry now, since images are a "special" file and
editing the entry in HCR\file-extension won't work.

Here is my reg file for 32-bit Irfanview...just edit path if you are
using 64-bit

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
;; IrtfanViewViewAction.reg

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\she ll\view]
@="&View"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\she ll\view\command]
@="\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\IrfanView\\i_view32.exe\" \"%1\""
