Default MS Games for Window 7

These games were left out of Windows 10 but I found the version
downloadable fore winearo.com were modified to work on Windows 10

I have been playing these games, especially spider solitare though sever
upgrades of windows 10. Until to day. No when I try to play Spider
Solitare, I get the game is not compatible with Windows 10 1709 16299.19.

I tried to reinstall the Vinearo games and they will not install.

What happen?

Are there any alternatives to these SIMPLE games?

I do not want a web based program or one that has to periodically call
home for it to work.

The games still work for me, though I had to re-install them after the
1709 update. Also, I think there was a later version of the Winaero
games that came out after the initial release.

I installed the Spider Solitaire from Windows XP on Windows 7 x64 as I
prefer that variant.

The games have been hex edited, to match the OS version filtering.

I never did find a clear explanation of what the values
are for, or how you would predict what to change next.

There is a recipe here, if you want to try it out.

I can't tell you what's wrong, but I can tell you that they *do* work
with Windows 7 1709. If they don't work on your machine, you've dome
something wrong. You might want to try uninstalling what you have,

OP: Just to be clear, I am running 1709 (16299.19), and the Spider
Solitaire worked until last night. This morning it would not run, with
the error to contact vendor. When I uninstalled the Window 7 Games,
Dowloaded a fresh copy from Vinearo, and tried to reinstall, the program
would fail.

I use "123 Free Software". However the website says online play but
download the software; & it is offline. I also play "xmsol" which is
free solitaire written in python(?) & the card moves are quicker than
'123 xxx' & the windows stuff.

When I removed Windows 7 games, it left the game directories with the
*.exe files in the folder. When I check the properties these files It
shows "Unable to display current owner". When I tried to take ownership
of these files, it says I do not have permission. At this point I am
trying to figure who has permission. I am logged on as an local and
administrator, so maybe I have to log on in the MS account. Right now I
don't have the time to fight MS
