Need help with a new user account programs/apps
I have Win XP SP3 and have created a new user account and selected
the administrator rather than limited option. What I do not seem to be able to accomplish is to move applications and programs from my primary owner administrator to the new user account. I get a nessage that says " Cannot move programs Access is denied. Make sure disk is not full or write protected and file is not currently in use. I would like to have IRfan, Forte Agent, Google Chrome, GOM media player and a few other apps moved to this new account. Can some kind soul walk me through the process/steps necessary to get these programs and apps into the new account. TIA Mary |

Thanks Mike, I guess I will have to go through an install for each of the progs and apps I would like. Someone in an article in Google said that a drag and drop could be done but I could not get it to work for me. Mary |

Mary Doesn't Windows allow programs to be installed so that they are accessible to all users? Only the personal configurations and private files need to be kept separate. It's a big waste of disc space (and a maintenance nightmare too) to have multiple installations of the same program. -- -- ^^^^^^^^^^ -- Whiskers -- ~~~~~~~~~~ |

If you install the same program multiple times to support multiple users, just install it to the same location each time. |
