It wouldn't give me coloured title bars on an admin account, an unhandled exception trying to read file C:\WINDOWS\system32\Resources\Themes\aero.theme even with "run as" |

Win10 Home on a recent Toshiba laptop. Anybody else? OK, I went back to play with this a bit today. I went into my Admin account and gave my user account "full controll" over the WinAeroTweaker folder. Then logged back in to user acount and started WAT. Got a box saying WAT 3.1.1 was available and downloaded that. When I ran that version in my limited user account the "colored title bars" feature worked. So, either it was the "full control" permissions thing or the new version. Nevertheless it got the job done. -- Pat email: phartzATcoxDOTnet |

Indeed the new version works for me, I turned the coloured titles back off though, I might use them if I could have separate colours for active and inactive windows, you know like last century ... |

Unless i'm missing something , it seems you can't set colored title bars and then have themes, one negates the other. Or is there a way? |

@fx24.iad: This one is a real keeper, Sure helps a heap in Win 10, probably helps in 7 or 8.1also www.winaero.com Regards, Rene Some settings get switched back with subsequent W10 updates. There are things Win 10 jealously guards, like img0.jpg. That's the "hero" login screen that has the car (or alien craft) headlights shining into the dark smoke-filled room. If you force an overwrite of the file eg paint it a single colour, it gets put back the way it was. All a bit weird, OCD I reckon. I've stopped using the Winaero Tweaker, at least for the time being. Win 10 might get really pi$$ed off and decide to crash and demand a reinstall. It has done that twice already with me, so I'm being cautious. |
