Is there a way to make the favorites column narrower in Internet
Explorer 11? Windows 10 1903.
It seems to be much wider than it used to be, Dragging the sides does
not work as there is no double headed arrow.
Thanks everyone.

Do you mean 'View favourites, feeds and history', i.e. by clicking the
star-icon in the upper right? (Should also be Alt+C, but that doesn't
work for me.)

If so, I'm on Windows 8.1, but I notice that there isn't a double
headed arrow on the right of the pane, but there is on the *left*. (And
yes, making the pane more narrow does stick.)

No, I mean when the menu bar is displayed and I choose favorites the
pane width is not adjustable, it works fine when I choose the star and
the left side has the double arrow

OK, you mean the drop-down menu which has:

Add to favourites...
Add to Favourites bar
Add current tabs to favourites...
Organize favourites...

and then has a list of your favourites?

If so, that drop-down menu indeed has no double headed arrows on
either side and its width is determined by the longest name in the list
of favourites.

I.e. it's likely that you/something added a long name, causing the
drop-down menu to be wider than before.

Thanks Frank, 100% correct! Great help.
I had added a website with very long name in the recent past month,
I was not aware that this pane was thus governed
