you're welcome.

After a more complete look at the owner's manual, it happens that it's not only one but several Toshiba aplications that are missing, and yes quite a few drivers need updating, including the BIOS and chipset driver. The fact is, this was a relative's computer and someone did a clean installation from a regular XP CD so the Toshiba Control Panel applications were not reinstalled. So I will lookup the possibility of getting the Toshiba CD or at least try to find the Toshiba applications. In the meantime, I managed to lower the display brightness in the BIOS and the Intel's Extreeme Graphics settings. Thanks again. Thanks... I downloaded the owners manual from the link you provided and it seems that the OS is missing a Toshiba application that should enable the keyboard shortcuts. Will try to find it. TOSHIBA Satellite A45 laptop and having trouble with the screen brightness but I can't seem to get it down... the control keys are F6 to lower and F7 to increase which combined with the "FN" key should work (as far as I know), but they don't do a thing, the computer is a bit old but seems in great general condition so I doubt the keys themselves don't work, the video/graphics are strong and sharp, it doesn't make a difference if on power or battery. What do you folks think? wrong key combination, sequence or what else? Can't find information on the net for that model. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate some help. Thanks |
