Did anyone notice Windows 10 using the disk a lot when the computer
was idle? Seems to have done it for a week when I'm not touching
it, now it's finally stopped, and will go to sleep as I told it to.
Task manager shows only AVG and system using a lot of disk.

I think that it is Defender doing a quick scan.

I notice that when I ignore the notification that the computer need
to be scanned, sometime later the notification goes away & appears
that Defender did its scan.

I've started to ignore the Defender notification since it appears that
whenever I run CCleaner, I get the "need to be scanned" notification.
I do run CCleaner every so often during the day & I do a browser history
delete when I close FF (don't remember if the "computer needs scanning
came up).

Looks like computer activity is monitored somewhat; perhaps when
there is lots of deletions that would trigger a "need to be scanned".
No idea on how long an inactivity time would have Defender do a
scan, in my case.

Uncheck the Windows Defender option in Ccleaner/Applications/Utilities
then Defender won't be bothering you every time you use Ccleaner.

Is your second name Quinn?

Nope!

I thought you were named after (or pretending to be) http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Jonas_Quinn

My defender went away when I installed AVG.

Yes, AVG disables Defender went installed.

Windows 10 disables AVG when installed, and doesn't tell you!

Windows 10 takes over everything, that's why I will not install it. I
like to be in control of my computer.

I can't see it doing anything I don't like.
