does Cortana still recognize songs?
That's the question. I normally don't use Win 10, but I am wondering if
I could use Cortana to recognize songs I'm playing on media player. Some information I came across says that she no longer works. True or false? Thanks in advance. |

Search and Cortana are separated. https://www.ghacks.net/2019/01/17/mi...-version-1903/ +-----+ +--------------------------+ /-----\ |Start| | Search | /Cortana\ | Orb | | Box | \ Circle/ +-----+ +--------------------------+ \-----/ You can right-click the Cortana Circle and make it disappear. If you still have that Cortana circle, feed it your music and see. Since there is software that large companies use for Copyright violation testing, it shouldn't be that hard for them to rig up identification. It's not like they necessarily had to sit down and write one. Paul |

In File Explorer, right-click on the file and look at the Details tab. In the unidentified media player, it probably also has some means of showing the meta data. https://www.engadget.com/2018/01/04/...rosoft-groove/ |

Then, according to the URL that I gave, your SOL for getting Cortana to do the song lookup. Its database doesn't exist anymore. |

Android phones offer to identify any music that they hear and I suspect that iPhones do, as well. I suspect because I've never seen an iPhone up close. |

I have been using midomi.com for some songs, but it does not recognize many of them. Was just looking for something web based that was more comprehensive. |
